{"id":2521,"date":"2016-07-13T22:19:54","date_gmt":"2016-07-14T04:19:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mikuniinternational.org\/?page_id=2521"},"modified":"2016-07-18T21:58:07","modified_gmt":"2016-07-19T03:58:07","slug":"lesson-6-winnie-pooh","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mikuniinternational.org\/en\/%e6%95%99%e6%9d%90\/english-203-novels\/lesson-6-winnie-pooh\/","title":{"rendered":"Lesson 6: Winnie-The-Pooh"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\"page-title\">Lesson 6: Winnie-The-Pooh<\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Winnie-the-Pooh_(book)\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/media.oregonlive.com\/living_impact\/photo\/-170df5bb641a1f76.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"438\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once upon a time, a very long time ago now, about last Friday, Winnie-the-Pooh lived in a forest all by himself under the name of Sanders<\/p>\n<p>One day when he was out walking, he came to an open place in the middle of the forest, and in the middle of this place was a large oak-tree, and, from the top of the tree, there came a loud <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>buzzing<\/strong><\/span>-noise.<\/p>\n<p>Winnie-the-Pooh sat down at the foot of the tree, put his head between his paws, and began to think.<\/p>\n<p>First of all he said to himself: That buzzing-noise means something. You don\u2019t get a buzzing-noise like that, just buzzing and buzzing, without its meaning something. If there\u2019s a buzzing-noise, somebody\u2019s making a buzzing-noise, and the only reason for making a buzzing-noise that I know of is because you\u2019re a bee.<\/p>\n<p>Then he thought another long time, and said: \u2018And the only reason for being a bee that I know of is making honey.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>And then he got up, and said: \u2018And the only reason for making honey is so as I can eat it.\u2019 So he began to climb the tree. He climbed and he climbed and he climbed, and as he climbed he sang a little song to himself.<\/p>\n<p>Then he climbed a little <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>further<\/strong><\/span>\u2026 and a little further\u2026 and then just a little further. By that time he had thought of another song.<\/p>\n<p>He was getting <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>rather<\/strong> <\/span>tired by this time, so that is why he sang a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Complaining<\/strong><\/span> Song. He was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>nearly<\/strong> <\/span>there now, and if he just stood on that branch\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Crack!<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Oh, help!\u2019 said Pooh, as he dropped ten feet to the branch below him.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018If only I hadn\u2019t \u2013\u2019 he said, as he <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>bounced<\/strong><\/span> twenty feet on to the next branch.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018You see, what I meant to do,\u2019 he explained, as he turned head-over-heels, and crashed onto another branch thirty feet below, \u2018what I meant to do \u2013\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Of course, it was rather \u2013\u2019 he <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>admitted<\/strong><\/span>, as he <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>slithered<\/strong><\/span> very quickly through the next six branches. \u2018It all comes, I suppose,\u2019 he decided, as he said goodbye to the last branch, spun round three times, and flew gracefully into a gorse-bush, \u2018it all comes of liking honey so much. Oh, help!\u2019<\/p>\n<p>He crawled out of the gorse-bush, brushed the prickles from his nose, and began to think again.
