Have the students share with the class. Make a big list of all the examples of the five senses from the book on the board.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Sensory Cups-<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Place five cups on a table in front of the class. Put something inside each cup that corresponds with one of the five senses. For example, you could do the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Touch<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Puffy Balls<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Hear<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Bell<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Smell:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Fresh Basil<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Sight<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Glass Prism<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Taste<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Strawberry &amp; Grape<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have each student come up and interact with each cup. Have them touch the puffy balls, smell the basil, and so on.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Popcorn Fun-<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have the students fill <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/file\/d\/0B2_vZ1SwmROxLVhSWHI3MDVadm8\/edit\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">this worksheet <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">out, and then eat popcorn together!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Game:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>What\u2019s in the Cat\u2019s Hat?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Put an object inside of a hat. Have the students come up one by one and put their hands inside the hat, w<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ith their eyes closed<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Have them try and guess what the object is,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Thing 1 and Thing 2 Tag-<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Print out<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com\/originals\/9d\/2b\/02\/9d2b029122fdc28f181c42da00745920.jpg\" rel=\"wp-prettyPhoto[2294]\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> these logos<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and tape them onto two students. Have them be \u201cit\u201d and then chase the other students around the room.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Cat, Cat, Hat &#8211;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A group of players sit in a circle, facing inward, while another player, who is &#8220;it&#8221;, walks around tapping or pointing to each player in turn, calling each a &#8220;cat &#8221; until finally calling one a &#8220;hat&#8221; \u00a0The &#8220;hat&#8221; then rises and tries to tag &#8220;it&#8221;, while &#8220;it&#8221; tries to return to and sit where the &#8220;hat&#8221; had been sitting. If &#8220;it&#8221; succeeds, the &#8220;hat&#8221; becomes &#8220;it&#8221; and the process begins again. If the &#8220;hat&#8221; tags &#8220;it&#8221;, the &#8220;hat&#8221; may return to sit in the previous spot and &#8220;it&#8221; resumes the process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Roll the Five Senses Dice-<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cut out <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.childcarelounge.com\/printform\/Senses-Dice.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dice pattern <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(all in one connecting piece.) Glue Flaps under. Children \u201croll\u201d the<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dice. Whatever sense the picture represents, children name something that is done with it.
