This item should be from a place they have recently visited. Have them show the item to the class tell where the item is from. After all the students all present their items, ask the class where they would go based on what they\u2019ve heard and why.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Travel Around the World-<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bring in a map of the world, or draw it on the board. Ask students questions such as, \u201cWhere do you live?\u201d or \u201cWhere would you like to travel?\u201d Have the students draw a picture of themselves on the board in the general area of the country they would like to travel.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Games:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Around the World Rumpus-<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Write the names of different countries on different sheets of paper. Give each student some Blue-Tak or something to stick the sheets of paper on the wall around the room. Then, on small colored pieces of paper write different names of countries such as Germany, Japan, etc. Use a stick or pole as a \u201cscepter\u201d and give it to one student to be \u201cit.\u201d They will become the king or queen of the wild things. They are in charge of telling the wild things where to go. \u00a0A crown is optional. He or she will place a name of a country on the scepter and make the grand announcement. Everyone should. (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/growingbookbybook.com\/where-the-wild-things-are-action-word-rompus\/#_a5y_p=4260988\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click Here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Guess the Country-<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before you start you&#8217;ll need a number of small pieces of paper (one for each student in the class) with a different country written on each one. Hand out the pieces of paper to the students (one each) and let them read which country they have. Explain to them that you are going on a world travel trip and each one of the students is a destination on your journey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will read out clues to the next location and it&#8217;s up to the students to listen carefully and raise their hand when they think it&#8217;s their country that the clues are referring to. Pretend to fly across the room, check the student\u2019s piece of paper to make sure they are the intended destination, read out the next clue and continue on until you&#8217;ve been to every country in the room.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Pack Your Suitcase-<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hide pictures of different things that you would pack in a suitcase around the room (ie: Passport, Camera, Ticket, etc). Have the students search for them. Draw a suitcase on the chalkboard and tape each item that the students locate on the board.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Travel the World (simplified version of \u201cAround the World Rumpus\u201d) &#8211;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Write the names of different countries on different sheets of paper. Give each student some Blue-Tak or something to stick the sheets of paper on the wall around the room. Then bring everyone into the middle of the room. Shout out &#8220;France&#8221; and everyone has to race over<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to the France card and touch it.
