Have them write, in English, the name of the animal on the sheet of paper. You can also have them show the rest of the class their pictures, and ask the class what sound that animal makes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Puppet Fun-<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Go to <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dltk-teach.com\/books\/brownbear\/sequel.htm\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">this website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and print out the templates for the animals. Cut the animals out and put them on popsicle sticks to make puppets. Review what the name of each animal is and what sound it makes. Then read the book and while the kids hold the puppets, have them stand and make their animal sound when they hear their animal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Missing Vowels<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Print out <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.allkidsnetwork.com\/worksheets\/animals\/farm\/images\/farm-animals-worksheet.jpg\" rel=\"wp-prettyPhoto[2255]\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">this worksheet<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and have the students fill in the missing vowels for each animal.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Games:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Pin the Tail on the Polar Bear-<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Draw a picture of a polar bear on the board. Cut out little tails for each of the children. With their eyes closed, \u00a0have the students try to pin it on the tail on the polar bear. Whoever is closest, wins!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Find the Animals-<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before your students arrive, hide several animal cards (use the printables from the \u201cPuppet Fun\u201d activity above) around the room. Draw a Zoo on the blackboard. Before you start, explain to the children that the Zoo Keeper\u2019s animals got out of their cage. The children are to search and collect the animals and return them to their home. Tape the cards on the board as each child finds them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Animal Charades-<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have one child be \u201cIt.\u201d Whisper in their ear the name of an animal. The student will then act out the animal while the other children try to guess what it is.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Animal Parade-<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have the children form a circle. One person is chosen to be the leader. The leader calls the name of a child and names an animal. The child does an imitation of the animal named. After everyone has had a chance to imitate an animal, all players form a line for an \u201cAnimal Parade&#8221; led by the leader.The group moves around the room, each imitating the animal he\/she represents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Zookeeper Says-<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like \u201cSimon Says,\u201d but instead of saying \u201cSimon\u201d say \u201cZookeeper says.\u201d The teacher can play this with animals sounds or actions.
