There are many ways
to reach Mikuni International
It can be difficult traveling in a foreign country or to a place you have never been before. Follow the instructions below to get to the Mikuni International College Campus. If you are still confused or have questions about our location, please feel free to contact us.
Step One: Reaching Yuzawa
Just like you can’t visit Salt Lake City until you get to Utah, you can’t visit the Mikuni Campus until you get to Yuzawa. There are two ways this can be accomplished: bus and train. Please read the instructions to the left and choose the option that is most appropriate for your needs.
Step Two: Reaching Mikuni International College
After arriving in Yuzawa, whether by bus or by train, your next objective is to get yourself to the Mikuni International College campus. The various travel options are detailed to the right.
If you arrived on a highway bus coming from Tokyo, you will be dropped off at the Yuzawa IC. From there you will need to walk a short way from the freeway toward Highway 17. When you reach Highway 17, turn left and walk about 50 meters. You will find a bus stop. This is the same line people will ride when they come from Echigo-Yuzawa Station. The schedule is here. The bus stop near Yuzawa IC is Kobara (小原), but it is not listed on the schedule. The bus will arrive approximately 5 minutes after leaving the train station, 10 minutes before reaching the second stop listed, Yagisawa (八木沢). This ride will cost between 500 and 600 yen. There is an additional 100 yen fee for large suitcases. If you are with two people, or if you plan to take the bus back down when you return from Mikuni, a Bus Ticket Booklet (回数乗車券) will save you a little money. For 1000 yen, you receive 1200 yen in tickets.
If you arrived at Echigo-Yuzawa Station, go to the East Exit, down the escalator, and out the door. Find the bus headed toward Naeba Prince Hotel or Seibu Crystal Hotel and board that. Get off at Tairappyo (平標登山口) which is directly in front of Mikuni International College. The schedule is here. This will cost 600 yen. There is an additional 100 yen fee for large suitcases. If you are with two people, or if you plan to take the bus back down when you return from Mikuni, a Bus Ticket Booklet (回数乗車券) will save you a little money. For 1000 yen, you receive 1200 yen in tickets, making each ride only 500 yen.
Mikuni International College is located near Naeba Ski Resort in Yuzawa directly on Highway 17. Use this address in Google Maps or your in-car navigation system.
