Lesson 2: Little Red Riding Hood

Little Red Riding Hood lived in a forest with her mother. One day, Little Red Riding Hood’s mother prepared a delicious cake.
“Take this cake to your grandmother,” her mother said. Her mother put the cake in a basket and gave it to Little Red Riding Hood. On her way to her grandmother’s house, Little Red Riding Hood met a big, bad wolf.
The scary wolf stood in front of her. “Hello!” he said. “Where are you going?”
“I’m going to see my grandmother. She lives in a house behind those trees,” said Little Red Riding Hood. She pointed to her grandmother’s house.
The wolf thought of an idea. He ran to the grandmother’s house and ate Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother all up. The wolf put on the grandmother’s clothes and got into her bed. He would pretend to be Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother.
Soon, Red Riding Hood came to the house. She knocked, and went inside. She looked at the wolf. “Grandmother, what big eyes you have!” she said.
“All the better to see you with!” said the wolf.
“Grandmother, what big ears you have!” said Red Riding Hood.
“All the better to hear you with!” said the wolf.
“Grandmother, what big teeth you have!”
“All the better to eat you with!” shouted the wolf. The wolf then jumped out of the bed.
A man was in the forest cutting down trees for firewood. He heard a loud scream and ran to the old grandmother’s house. Inside, he saw the big, bad wolf about to eat Little Red Riding Hood. The man hit the wolf on the head. The wolf opened his mouth wide and shouted, “OW!”
Then, Red Riding Hood’s grandmother jumped out of the wolf’s mouth.
“I’m free!” said Grandmother. “Now, let’s get that wolf!”
The wolf was scared, so he ran away and Little Red Riding Hood lived happily ever after with her Grandmother.
